Within a central circle surrounded by a dotted circle, in four lines: sulṭān al-barrayn / wa-khāqān al-baḥrayn / al-Sulṭān ibn / al-Sulṭān (‘The Sultan of the two lands and the Khaqan of the two seas, the Sultan son of the Sultan’ in Arabic). Rev. Within a central circle surrounded by a dotted circle, tughra of Maḥmūd I; below, in three lines: ʿazza naṣruhū ḍuriba fī Miṣr sana 1143 (‘May his victory be strengthened. Struck at Miṣr, year 1143’ in Arabic). KM 86. Extremely well preserved. In NGC encapsulation, graded MS 64. Only two coins graded higher. Very minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good extremely fine.
