Judaica JUDAEA, Bar Kokhba War. 132-136 CE. Middle Bronze (Bronze, 26 mm, 11.62 g, 6 h), regular coinage. Uncertain mint. Undated, but attributed to Year 3 = 134/5 CE. 𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅𐤍 (‘Šimʿon’ in Paleo-Hebrew) Seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates. Rev. 𐤋𐤇𐤓𐤅𐤕 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 ('For the Freedom of Jerusalem' in Paleo-Hebrew) Vine leaf on tendril. Bromberg I 254 = Meshorer, AJC, 74a = Mildenberg 140.1 (this coin, O11/R104). Hendin 6464. Samel 2513 (same reverse die). Shoshana I 20503-20504 (same reverse die). Sofaer 141-153. Extremely rare, the sole example recorded by Mildenberg. Some deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
