Judaica PHILISTIA. Gaza. Circa 420-350 BCE. Rbʾ Šql = Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 3.77 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig above ☉ (ʿ in Aramaic); to right, A☉E; all within incuse square. Fischer-Bossert, Philistian, 13m (this coin?). Gitler & Tal V.10D. Hendin -. Jeselsohn 71-77. Shoshana II 20004 (same dies). Sofaer -. A wonderful piece, by far the finest known example. Sharply struck and beautifully toned, with an exceptionally complete crest on Athena’s helmet. The upper part of the reverse off flan, otherwise, good extremely fine.

Fischer-Bossert records a specimen with the same weight and die axis as 13m in the Leo Mildenberg files. It seems likely that this is the present coin.
