Marcus Ambibulus succeeded Coponius as the second Roman prefect of Judaea, governing from 9 to 12 CE under Augustus. Little is known of his administration; Josephus records only that Salome, the sister of Herod the Great, died during his tenure and bequeathed her territories to Livia (Josephus, Ant. 18.31).
