CALABRIA. Tarentum. temp. Pyrrhos of Epeiros, circa 276-272 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.54 g, 1 h). Laureate head of Zeus to right; behind, monogram of ΝΚ. Rev. ΤΑΡΑΝΤΙΝΩΝ Eagle with open wings standing left on thunderbolt; to left, monogram of ΑΡ. Fischer-Bossert G35a (this coin, V31/R35). HN Italy 983. Vlasto 35 (this coin). Rare and with an illustrious pedigree. Light scratches and edge marks, otherwise, very fine.
