BOEOTIA. Thebes. Circa 425-395 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 12.16 g, 9 h). Boeotian shield. Rev. Θ-E Bearded head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy. BCD Boiotia 443. SNG Copenhagen 282-284. A beautiful piece, attractively toned and with a wonderful head of Dionysos. Some die rust and a banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
