KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip V, 221-179 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 17.00 g, 3 h), Pella or Amphipolis, circa 188/7-183. Head of Philip V to left, as the hero Perseus, with harpa over his right shoulder and wearing winged helmet adorned with a griffin as a crest; all within the boss of a Macedonian shield ornamented with seven stars within crescents around the edge. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΦIΛIΠΠOΥ Club to right; above, monogram of ΑΡ; below, monograms of ΛΩ and ΗΔ; all within oak wreath tied at the left; to left of the ties, harpa downwards. AMNG III -. Boston MFA 717.
