KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8.53 g, 9 h), Amphipolis, circa 288/7-282/1. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield; behind, transverse spear; in inner left field, kerykeion with handle to inner left; to outer right, monogram of EY. HGC 3.2, -. Müller 101. Thompson -, cf. 195 (tetradrachm). Very rare and with a bold head of Alexander. Minor marks and with a minor indentation on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
