SICILY. Gela. Circa 490/85-480/75 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 7.82 g, 9 h). Bearded horseman, nude, riding right, brandishing spear in his upraised right hand. Rev. CEΛA Forepart of a man-headed bull to right. Jameson 582 (same dies). Jenkins, Gela, 10 (O6/R5). Beautifully toned and with a superb reverse of powerful style. The obverse slightly double struck, otherwise, about extremely fine.
