A well made contemporary imitation of a tetradrachm of Antigonos III Doson

KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos III Doson, 229-221 BC. Tetradrachm (Subaeratus, 34 mm, 13.71 g, 1 h), imitating Amphipolis (?), after circa 227-225. Head of Poseidon to right, wearing wreath of seaweed. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΓΟΝΟΥ Apollo seated to left on prow, holding bow in his right hand; below, monogram. Cf. SNG Alpha Bank 1046 (for prototype). A well made contemporary plated forgery. Very light doubling and tiny breaks in the plating, otherwise, good very fine.
