KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.52 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in Asia Minor, circa early to mid 3rd century. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated left, holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on shield decorated with lion's head; behind, transverse spear; to inner left, monogram of ΔAI; below throne, monogram of ΣAI. CNG E-Auction 322 (2014), 126 (same dies). Müller 498. A rare issue. Slightly porous and with some marks on the reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
