Claudius, 41-54. Cistophorus (Silver, 27 mm, 11.39 g, 6 h), Ephesus, circa 41-42. TI CLAVD CAES AVG Bare head of Claudius to left. Rev. COM - ASI Distyle temple of Roma and Augustus set on three steps; within, statue of Augustus, on the left, standing facing, holding scepter and being crowned by female figure, on the right, standing facing and holding cornucopiae; on entablature, ROM ET AVG. BMC 288. RIC 120. RPC I 2221. A bold and nicely centered example, lightly toned and with an excellent portrait. Very fine.
