CENTRAL EUROPE. Uncertain tribe. Circa 50-25 BC. Stater (Electrum, 17 mm, 7.16 g, 12 h), 'Regenbogenschüsselchen, Mardorf' type. Triskeles within a torc-shaped wreath with a pellet-in-annulet at each end. Rev. Eight annulets, five with pellets within them, three with an annulet; around, zigzag ornament; all within cup-shaped incuse. Flesche 402. Kappel, Mardorf, pl. 17, 6-20. Kellner, Manching, type IX A. LT 9441. SLM 1097. A magnificent piece, sharply struck and perfectly centered, and undoubtedly among the finest known examples. Minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
