JUDAEA, Achaemenid Province (Yehud). Circa 375-332 BCE. Half Gerah (Silver, 7 mm, 0.32 g, 12 h). Dove standing facing on basin, head to right; to left and right, plants. Rev. 𐤉𐤄𐤃 ('YHD' in Phoenician) Falcon flying upward, head to right. GLF Yehud Type 15, O1/R1. Very rare. Struck from the usual worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.

This obverse type was long described as a helmet or incense burner and only recently recognized by Gitler, Lorber, and Fontanille as depicting a bird, likely a dove, on a basin - a remarkable type!
