An extremely rare and beautiful aureus of Hadrian

Hadrian, 117-138. Aureus (Gold, 19 mm, 6.79 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 124-125. HADRIANVS AVGVST Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. COS / III She-wolf standing left, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus. BMC 448 note. Calicó 1236 corr. (bust type). Cohen 424. RIC II.3 708. Extremely rare with this abbreviated obverse legend. A beautiful coin with a wonderful portrait and a particularly detailed reverse. Good very fine.
