Sigismund Báthory (1572-1613) was the Prince of Transylvania from 1581 to 1597 and again from 1598 to 1602. Known for his tumultuous reign, Sigismund sought alliances with various European powers to counter Ottoman influence in the region. His political maneuvers and abdications made him a highly important figure in Transylvanian history. This is a particularly impressive Taler of Sigismund Báthory, portraying him in full armor and holding a mace.
