Magnentius, 350-353. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.27 g, 12 h), Aquileia, 351-352. D N MAGNEN-TIVS P F AVG Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Magnentius to right. Rev. VICTORIA AVG LIB ROMANOR / •SMAQ Victory, on the left, holding palm frond over her left shoulder, and Libertas, on the right, holding scepter in her left hand, both supporting trophy between them. Depeyrot 7/1. Paolucci & Zub 545 (same obverse die). RIC 137. Extremely rare. Some scrapes and scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.

Ex The Coin Cabinet E-Auction 3, 11 October 2023, 120 and Noonans E-Auction 117, 3 June 2020, 567, and previously found in Suffolk, between 1 January 2018-22 May 2018, submitted for consideration as Treasure to the PAS and returned to the finders (PAS ID: NMS-453EDD).
