Titus, 79-81. Semis (Orichalcum, 19 mm, 5.31 g, 6 h), uncertain mint (in Thrace?), 80-81. IMP T CAESAR DIVI VESPAS F AVG Laureate head of Titus to right. Rev. IVD - CAP / S - C Judaea, in attitude of mourning, seated to left under a palm tree; to right, shield, helmet and two spears. BMC 259 corr. (shield misdescribed as yoke and omitting helmet and spears). Cohen 112 corr. (omitting spears). RIC 504 corr. (shield misdescribed as yoke and omitting helmet and spears). Rare. A wonderful, sharp and beautifully preserved example, perfectly struck and undoubtedly among the finest known. Light smoothing, otherwise, extremely fine.
