Penny (Silver, 19 mm, 1.08 g), pointed helmet type, Sunnulfr, York, 1024-1030. ✠ CNVT REX ΛNGL Draped and cuirassed bust of Cnut to left, wearing pointed helmet and holding cross-tipped scepter in his right hand. Rev. ✠ SVNOLF M-O EOFR Voided short cross with pellet at center, limbs united at base by two concentric circles; in each angle, broken annulet enclosing a pellet. SCBC 1158. Nicely toned. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
