Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Basilikon (Silver, 20 mm, 1.70 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. IC - XC Christ, nimbate, seated facing on backless throne, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left; to either side of Christ, cross of pellets. Rev. A/N/ΔP/NI/NI/IS X/M/AЄ ΔЄ/ΠI/TI[...] Andronicus II, on the left, standing facing, wearing crown with pendilia and loros and Michael IX, on the right, standing facing, wearing crown with pendilia and loros, holding between them long cross. DOC -. SB 2401. Very rare and unusually well preserved. Slightly rough, otherwise, about extremely fine.
