JUDAEA, First Jewish War. 66-70 CE. Shekel (Silver, 21 mm, 14.24 g, 5 h), Jerusalem, Year 3 = 68/9. 'Shekel of Israel, Year 3' (in Paleo-Hebrew) Omer cup with pearled rim. Rev. 'Jerusalem the holy' (in Paleo-Hebrew) Stem with three pomegranates. Hendin 6390. Kadman 20. Meshorer 202. Sofaer 29. Sharply struck on excellent metal, and with beautiful old collection toning. Good extremely fine.
