A very rare tetradrachm from Abdera from the Frisbie and Prospero Collections

THRACE. Abdera. Circa 395-360 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 13.03 g, 2 h), Herokleitos, magistrate. Griffin seated to left, raising right forepaw. Rev. ΕΠ ΗΡΟΚΛΕΤΟ (sic!) Kithara with seven strings; all within incuse square. Chryssanthaki-Nagle pl. 7, 13 (this coin). HGC 3.2, -. Lanz 121 (2004), 138 (same dies). May, Abdera -. Peus 407 (2012), 306 var. (reverse legend). Very rare. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with minor flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
