PHRYGIA. Laodicea ad Lycum. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Assarion (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.87 g, 12 h), Zeuxis Philalethes, circa 15 BC (?). ΣEBAΣTOΣ Laureate head of Augustus to right; to right, lituus. Rev. ZEYΞIΣ / ΦIΛAΛHΘHΣ - ΛAOΔIKEΩN Zeus Laodiceus standing front, head to left, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left. RPC I 2894. SNG Copenhagen 555. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
