BRUTTIUM. Terina. Circa 440-425 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 23 mm, 7.37 g, 3 h). Head of the nymph Terina to left, wearing olive wreath; behind, [Δ]. Rev. TEP[INAION] Nike seated left on cippus, wearing chiton and himation, holding wreath in her right hand and winged kerykeion in her left. HN Italy 2579. Holloway & Jenkins 22 (same dies). Regling - (dies Q/φ). SNG Lloyd 729 (same dies). Beautifully toned and of fine style. Light marks and with a minor graffito on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.


From the collection of Professor Wiemers, Kricheldorf 49, 20 February 2017, 25 and previously privately acquired from Dr. R. Maly on 3 April 1982 (with original collector's ticket).
