PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Arsinoe II, wife of Ptolemy II, died 270 BC. Dekadrachm (Silver, 34 mm, 29.90 g, 12 h), Alexandria, circa 261/0-253/2. Diademed and veiled bust of deified Arsinoe II with ram's horn to right, with the tip of a lotus scepter at the top of her head; behind to left, Σ. Rev. [ΑΡ]ΣΙΝΟΗΣ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟ[Υ] Double cornucopiae bound with fillet and with two grape bunches hanging at sides. CPE 336. Svoronos 502. Troxell Group II, p. 42 and pl. 4, 3. Harshly cleaned and with some flan faults, otherwise, about very fine.
