Rev. ✠SEFAR [..]ON PILTI Cross, in each quarter an annulet containing one letter of the word PAXS. North 850. SCBC 1257. Beautifully toned and with an impressive portrait. Good very fine.


From the collection of Dr. Max Blaschegg (1930-2021, with collector’s ticket), privately acquired from Monnaies & Gemmes at the Zurich coin fair on 29 October 2011.


The name of the mint is not quite clear. However, a moneyer named Sefar is attested at Wilton at that time (cf. SCBI 11, Royal Coin Cabinet Stockholm, 213, and SCBI 21, Yorkshire Collections, M132).
