Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.46 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 668. δ N CONSTANTNIЧS C COS Facing bust of Constantine IV, beardless, wearing crown surmounted by cross and chlamys and holding globus cruciger in his right hand. Rev. VICTORIA AVGЧ [...] / CONOB Cross potent on three steps between standing figures of Heraclius on the left and Tiberius on the right; both crowned, wearing chlamys and holding a globus cruciger in their right hands. DOC 1. MIB 1B. SB 1147. Rare. A lustrous and beautifully preserved example of this difficult issue. Struck slightly off center, otherwise, good extremely fine.

From the collection of Dr. Max Blaschegg (1930-2021, with collector’s ticket), received as a birthday present in 1967 and previously privately acquired from Dr. F. Sternberg on 15 August 1967.
