SICILY. Lilybaion (as ‘Cape of Melkart’). Circa 350-310 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.19 g, 3 h). 𐤓𐤔𐤌𐤋𐤒𐤓𐤕 ('ršmlqrt' in Punic) Charioteer driving quadriga galloping to left, holding kentron in his right hand and reins in his left; above, Nike flying right, crowning the charioteer with a wreath. Rev. Female head to right, her hair bound in ampyx and sphendone, wearing earring with five pendants; around, three dolphins. Jenkins, Punic, 20 (O9/R10). Lightly toned and of fine Carthaginian style. The obverse struck from a somewhat worn die and the reverse slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
