A nicely toned Persian siglos

PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Time of Xerxes II to Artaxerxes II, circa 420-375 BC. Siglos (Silver, 16 mm, 5.55 g), Lydo-Milesian standard, Sardes or subsidiary mint. Persian king or hero in kneeling/running stance to right, holding spear and bow. Rev. Incuse punch. BMC Arabia pl. XXV passim. Carradice Type IIIb, Group C (pl. XIV, 40-1). Nicely toned. The obverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, very fine.

Ex Rauch 85, 26 November 2009, 254 and previously from an old Viennese collection, formed between 1960 and 1980.
