D N VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG Pearl-diademed bust of Valentinian I to left, wearing elaborate consular robes, holding mappa in his right hand and scepter in his left. Rev. SALVS REI P / SMTES Valentinian I standing front, head to right, holding labarum in his right hand and Victory on globe in his left and placing his right foot on captive kneeling to left below; in field to right, star. Depeyrot 31/1. RIC 3a. Rare. A beautiful coin with a wonderful consular portrait. Light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
