Carus, 282-283. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.38 g, 6 h), Rome, 283. IMP C M AVR CARVS P F AVG Laureate and cuirassed bust of Carus to right. Rev. VIRTVS AVGG Mars advancing right, holding spear pointing forward in his right hand and trophy over his left shoulder. Calicó -. Cohen -, cf. 109 (differing bust type). RIC -, cf. 34 (differing bust type). Very rare. A bright and attractive coin, very sharply struck. Tiny marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
