Clodius Albinus, as Caesar, 193-195. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.65 g, 6 h), Rome, 194-195. D CL SEPT ALBIN CAES Bare head of Clodius Albinus to right. Rev. ROMAE AETERNAE Roma, helmeted, seated left on shield, holding Victory with wreath and palm in her right hand and long scepter with her left. BMC 43 var., Cohen 61 var. and RIC 11b var. (all with palladium in place of Victory). A rare variety. Sharp and lustrous, and with a splendid portrait of particularly fine style. Extremely fine.
