Julius Caesar, 49-44 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 4.14 g, 6 h), with L. Livineius Regulus, Rome, 42. Laureate head of Caesar to right; to left, laurel branch; to right, winged caduceus. Rev. L•LIVINEIVS / REGVLVS Bull charging right. Babelon (Julia) 57 and (Livineia) 1. Crawford 494/24. CRI 115. RBW 1730. Sydenham 1106. A beautifully toned example with a splendid portrait and a fine pedigree. Struck slightly off center and with some light scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
