SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos I Soter, 281-261 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 17.13 g, 4 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris. Diademed head of Antiochos I to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left, monogram. SC 379.3a. Boldly struck in high relief and with a magnificent portrait. Some minor marks and with a cut above the eye, otherwise, about extremely fine.
