SICILY. Syracuse. Fifth Democracy, 214-212 BC. 12 Litrai (Silver, 24 mm, 10.21 g, 5 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Corinthian helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ Artemis, in hunting dress and with quiver on her back, standing left, drawing bow; at her feet, hunting dog leaping left; to left, MI. Burnett, Enna, D12. SNG ANS -. SNG Copenhagen 877. Lightly toned and of splendid Hellenistic style. Minor marks and with light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
