A nicely toned didrachm from Segesta

SICILY. Segesta. Circa 455/50-445/40 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 7.53 g, 2 h). The river-god Krimisos, in the form of a hunting dog, standing left. Rev. ΣEΓEΣTA 𐤆-I-B Head of the nymph Aigeste to right, her hair bound with a ribbon. Hurter Period II, Series 5, 94 (V29/R51). SNG ANS 621. Nicely toned. Some hornsilver and with minor roughness, otherwise, good very fine.

Ex Gorny & Mosch 257, 15 October 2018, 183 and previously from a European collection, formed prior to 1993.
