Gordian I, 238. Denarius (Silver, 22 mm, 3.00 g, 7 h), Rome, March-April 238. IMP M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian I to right, seen from behind. Rev. SECVRITAS AVGG Securitas seated left, holding short scepter in her right hand and leaning with her left arm on throne. BMC 11. Cohen 10. RIC 5. Lightly toned and struck on an exceptionally broad flan. Extremely fine.
