A beautifully toned didrachm from Leontini

SICILY. Leontini. Circa 476-466 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 9.30 g, 6 h). Nude jockey, holding whip in his right hand and reins in his left, on horse galopping to right. Rev. ΛEONTINO Head of a roaring lion with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 13. HGC 2, 679. SNG ANS 209 (same dies). SNG München 543. A beautifully toned example with a splendid reverse. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
