A very rare issue of the tetrarch Ptolemaios

SYRIA, Coele-Syria. Chalkis ad Libanon. Ptolemaios, tetrarch, circa 85-40 BC. AE (Bronze, 14 mm, 1.56 g, 12 h), year 2 of the Pompeian Era = 63/2. Head of Hermes to right, wearing winged petasos. Rev. L - B Filleted kerykeion with club-shaped staff; to left, two monograms; all within laurel wreath. HGC 9, 1447 var. (differing monograms). Lindgren III, 1229 var. (differing monograms). Very rare and unusually attractive. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
