ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Artuqids (Mardin). Qutb al-Din Il-Ghazi II, AH 572-580 / AD 1176-1184. Dirham (Bronze, 30 mm, 10.16 g, 4 h), without mint and date. Diademed Roman style head to right within beaded square, his eyes raised to heaven; around beaded square; 'ibn Alpi ibn Tirmurtash ibn il-Ghazi ibn Artuq' in Kufic. Rev. 'il-Ghazi / li-Mawlana al-Malik al'Alim / al-adil Qutb al-Din / Malik al-Umara Shah / Diyarbakr' in five lines in Kufic. Spengler & Sayles 31.1. A lovely example with a particularly fanciful head. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
