Valentinian II, Theodosius I and Arcadius seated facing, each holding scepter in his right hand and globe in his left; below, Γᴑ A between two Ionic capitals; all details engraved, the faces, left hands, legs, feet and denomination mark inlaid in silver. The three emperors engraved onto the obverse of this impressive weight are Valentinian II, Theodosius I and Gratian, whose joint rule dates to 379-382, or more likely Valentinian II, Theodosius I and Arcadius, which would date the piece to 383-392.
