ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.21 g, 12 h), Xenokles and Armoxenos, magistrates, 91/0. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. A-ΘE / XE-NO/ΚΛΗΣ / APMO/ΞΕ/ΝΟΣ Owl standing facing on amphora; to right, dolphin and trident; on amphora, Λ (?); in exergue, ΠΡ; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 1098b. Beautifully toned and struck on excellent metal. Minor areas of weakness and with a punch mark on the reverse. Good very fine.
