SICILY. Akragas. Circa 415-406 BC. Tetras or Trionkion (Bronze, 23 mm, 12.40 g, 12 h). AKPA Eagle standing right, wings spread, clutching dead hare held in its talons. Rev. Crab; above, mussel shell; below, crayfish to left; around, three pellets (mark of value). CNS I, 50 mv2. HGC 2, 141 var. (no mussel shell). SNG ANS 1034. A rare variety. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and somewhat smoothed, otherwise, very fine.
