CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Leuci. 2nd century BC. Stater (Electrum, 22 mm, 7.17 g, 10 h), 'au cheval retournant la tête' type. Celticized laureate male head to right. Rev. Celticized horse to left, head turned to right and ending in a fibula-like ornament; above, cross; below horse, lyre-shaped ornament; all within shallow incuse. DT 143. LT 8990. A lightly toned and unusually well struck example. Very fine.
