KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 15.59 g, 12 h), reduced standard, Pella or Amphipolis, circa 173-171. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΠEΡ-ΣEΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above, monogram of KA; to right, monogram of AY; between the eagle's legs, monogram of ΛΩ; all within oak wreath; in exergue, plow right. Mamroth, Perseus, 20b. A beautiful and attractively toned example with a splendid portrait. Good very fine.
