A very rare hyperpyron of Michael VIII Palaeologus

Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Hyperpyron (Gold, 24 mm, 4.16 g, 7 h), Constantinopolis. The Virgin, nimbate, seated facing on throne with diaper pattern, wearing pallium and maphorium, holding with her both hands medallion of infant Christ, nimbate; in fields, MP - ΘV. Rev. Michael VIII, supported by St. Michael, kneeling to right before enthroned Christ, who holds scroll; in field to right, IC - XC. SB 2241. Very rare. Slightly clipped and with a minor graffito of ΛX on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
