Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 3.13 g, 3 h), a contemporary plated imitation, irregular mint, after 19 BC. [C]AESAR AVGVSTVS Head of Augustus to right, wearing oak-wreath. Rev. DIVVS IVLIVS Eight-rayed comet with tail upwards. Cf. BMC 323, Cohen 98 and RIC 37a (for prototype). Light marks and with some breaks in plating on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
