LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 334-300 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.60 g, 2 h), Kleudoros Group. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned, on the bowl, with a griffin; behind her neck, monogram. Rev. YEΛΗΤΩΝ Lion standing left, right forepaw raised; above, Θ; below, monogram. HN Italy 1290. Williams 306 (O167/R234). A fresh and clear piece of fine style. Very minor doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
