LUCANIA. Thourioi. Circa 400-350 BC. Distater (Silver, 24 mm, 15.72 g, 10 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing helmet adorned, on the bowl, with Skylla holding trident with her left hand. Rev. ΘΟΥΡΙΩΝ Bull butting to right; in exergue, two fish to right. HN Italy 1807. Noe, Thurian H8. SNG ANS 972. A bold and impressive piece of fine style. Minor flan fault on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
