PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, 305-282 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 14.00 g, 1 h), Alexandria, circa 294-292. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around neck; small Δ behind ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ Eagle, with closed wings, standing left on thunderbolt; in field to left, P above monogram of ΕΠ. Lorber, Ptolemaic, 165. Svoronos 250. Beautifully toned. Light scratches and minor traces of mounting (?), otherwise, good very fine.
